As a proud Canadian charity, Emajjin Children’s Foundation put aside all of our traditional fundraising efforts including our annual gala for 2020. Instead, we channeled all of our resources to support the Daily Bread Food Bank of Toronto to help our neighbours most impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Through the generosity of our supporters and a donation matching program, we raised $25,000 over a span of five weeks. We presented a cheque for this amount to the Daily Bread Food Bank on June 4, 2020. Watch the presentation below.
In addition to the above and to fulfill the second half of a two-year, $10,000 commitment, a cheque for $5,000 was presented to Eyrie For the Children Foundation on Tuesday, September 15, 2020.
These funds are in support an orphanage in Nepal.
In just a few short months, the entire global community changed in the beginning of 2020. Overnight, over three million Canadians lost their jobs. Many were unable to pay rents, mortgages, tuition fees, etc., and worried about where the next meal to feed their families will come from. For many, the immediate future was bleak, unpredictable and precarious.
As a proud Canadian charity, Emajjin Children’s Foundation ceased all our traditional fundraising efforts including our annual gala for 2020. Instead, we channelled all our resources to support the Daily Bread Food Bank of Toronto to help our neighbors in need.
Access to food is a basic human right, not a privilege. During these unprecedented times, food banks need our help now more than ever. That’s why Emajjin put all of our other 2020 fund-raising efforts aside.
The Daily Bread Food Bank distributes fresh and shelf-stable food, and fresh-cooked meals to more than 130 member agencies and 170 food programs across Toronto.
Emajjin Children’s Foundation matched donations to the Daily Bread Food Bank of Toronto with an additional $10,000.
Please give with your heart and give generously!
