Jazz Night
Our 4th Annual Jazz Night Gala, held on October 25, 2017, raised $30,000 in support of For the Love of Children Society — funding three critical rebuilding initiatives for children in Nepal, Cambodia, and Peru following devastating natural disasters and earthquake damage.
I feel blessed meeting you both and your directors. There is a saying from my book and it applies to you both — "Some people are like precious stones left on the path of life. It is up to us to perceive them, and enrich our hearts with their exhilarating Goodness." All your hard work paid off — you had wonderful people attending the event, great food, music and auction. Well done! Our Board of Directors are so grateful to you all.
Funds raised helped reconstruct the Gumpa Centre orphanage in Kathmandu, Nepal, which had suffered severe earthquake damage in 2012.
Expanding a one-room schoolhouse in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, enabling the accommodation of a greater number of students.
Reconstruction and expansion of a school in Cusco, Peru to accommodate 300 children who had lost their learning facilities.
For the Love of Children Society was chosen as the recipient charity for our 4th Annual Gala — an organization that works tirelessly to support children in Canada and internationally, and has been doing so for over 37 years.
The summer and fall of 2017 were marked by unprecedented natural disasters around the world — hurricanes, cyclones, and flooding displacing millions. Our gala that year was an opportunity to respond to that reality, directing funds toward rebuilding schools and orphanages that serve the children most affected by these catastrophes.
Mr. Ashid Bahl, Founder and President of For the Love of Children Society, joined us for an evening of jazz music, great food, and a unique auction. His passion for giving and his decades of tireless work inspired every guest in the room.
For the Love of Children Society of Alberta (FLTOCS) is a non-profit organization that has worked tirelessly to support children in Canada and internationally for over 37 years. At its helm is Ashid Bahl — a fearless leader who embodies the word "giver."
When natural disasters strike and individuals lose everything — their homes, crops, villages, friends and family — FLTOCS is there to help communities rebuild. They believe in the personal fortitude and resilience of the communities they serve, and they show up to provide the support, resources, and encouragement those communities need to get back on their feet.
For Emajjin, FLTOCS embodied the qualities we look for in every recipient charity — a long track record of community service, a fiscally responsible model, and an unwavering focus on the wellbeing of children.
