We are ecstatic to announce that our charity of choice for 2021 is Kids Against Hunger Canada. (KAHC).
KAHC is headquartered in Peterborough, Ontario. The organization addresses hunger, both across Canada and around the world. Their supporters donate, fundraise, create and participate in the packaging of their highly nutritious, life-saving meal packs.
These meal packs are shipped to feeding partners such as food banks, who in turn provide meals to individuals in need.
Join our journey as we collaborate with another esteemed Canadian charity striving to make a difference by feeding the hungry, starving and malnourished.
Stay tuned for details of upcoming events at Emajjin and help us support Kids Against Hunger Canada.
Feeding People in Need
Kids Against Hunger Canada (KAHC) is a humanitarian food-aid charity which focuses on feeding people in need, both here in Canada and around the world.
KAHC’s approach to achieving its goal – the eradication of world hunger – includes the packaging of a highly nutritious, vitamin-fortified rice & vegetable casserole by volunteers and then arranging for the distribution of those meals to starving children and their families.
KAHC’s relationships with NGOs (non-governmental organizations) such as churches, schools, and nonprofit organizations, operating in developing countries on the ground to receive and distribute the meals prepared by its volunteers. KAHC only ships to places where they know the food will be properly and freely distributed through an organization that can handle such an effort.
Accountability is key – KAHC seeks relationship with people they trust to do the right thing – seeking out organizations that have proven track records of successfully getting the food to those in need and keeping it out of the hands of corrupt government officials and criminals.
Partners are asked to document how they distributed the food and to provide KAHC with pictures of the children, youth and adults who receive it.
KAHC strives to minimize administration costs so the maximum amount of donations are going straight into the feeding program.
