Rolling up our sleeves.
Together.
With restrictions still in place in 2021, Emajjin traded in the gala for something different โ a community food packaging event in partnership with Kids Against Hunger Canada. Volunteers came together on August 8, 2021 at KAHC's facility in Ajax, Ontario to package meals for families in need. Together, we raised over $20,000 and packaged 7,776 meals headed to some very needy families.

community action
As COVID-19 restrictions eased slightly in 2021, Emajjin Children's Foundation found a way to bring people together safely and meaningfully. Rather than a formal gala, we organized a community food packaging event at Kids Against Hunger Canada's facility in Ajax, Ontario.
Volunteers showed up ready to work โ measuring, scooping, sealing, and labelling thousands of highly nutritious, vitamin-fortified rice and vegetable casserole meal packs. Every pack packaged represented a meal for a child or family in need, both here in Canada and around the world.
In addition to the hands-on event, donations continued to pour in from supporters who couldn't attend in person. Together, the community raised over $20,000 โ a testament to Emajjin's incredible network of generous, committed supporters.
"A BIG, HUGE, THANK YOU to everyone who came out to package meals. We packaged over 7,776 meals headed to some very needy families. Thank you for your time!!!"
Emajjin Children's Foundation
Kids Against Hunger Canada (KAHC) is a humanitarian food-aid charity headquartered in Peterborough, Ontario. The organization addresses hunger both across Canada and around the world โ packaging highly nutritious, vitamin-fortified rice and vegetable casserole meal packs that are shipped to feeding partners such as food banks and NGOs in developing countries.
KAHC's approach is hands-on and community-driven. Volunteers donate their time to package meals, while donors fund the ingredients and shipping. The result is a remarkably efficient model โ where every dollar raised translates directly into meals for children and families who need them most.
KAHC only ships to places where they know the food will be properly and freely distributed through trusted organizations on the ground. Their relationships with NGOs, churches, schools, and non-profits in developing countries ensure that every meal reaches the people it was intended for.
