For Love of
Children Society

"I feel Blessed meeting you both and your directors-There is a saying from my book and it applies to you both - "Some people are like precious stones left on the path of life. It is up to us to perceive them, and enrich our hearts with their exhilarating Goodness." All your hard work paid off-you had wonderful people attending the event-great food, music & auction-Well Done! Our Board of directors are so grateful to you all."

For The Love of Children Society was chosen as the recipient charity for our 4th Annual Gala held on October 25, 2017. Mr. Ashid Bahl, Founder & President, For the Love of Children Society, was delighted to have joined a gathering of friends and supporters for a great evening of jazz music, great food and a unique auction. The gala raised $30,000.00 in support of three of the Society’s initiatives:

1. Rebuilding the Gumpa Centre orphanage in Khatmandu, Nepal. Funds raised helped with the buildings reconstruction from severe earthquake damage in 2012.

2. Expanding a one‐room schoolhouse in Phnom Penh, Cambodia enabling the  accommodation of a greater number of students.

3. Reconstruction and expansion of a school in Cusco, Peru to accomodate 300 children.

About Our Charity

The recipient charity for 2017 was For the Love of Children Society (FLTOCS).

The summer and fall of 2017 will be remembered as one that was fraught with unprecedented calamities and natural disasters around the world. Hurricanes struck Florida, Puerto Rico, Honduras, Costa Rica and other islands in the Caribbean, leaving a path of massive destruction in their wake. Cyclones and flooding in South East Asia, Japan and China killed thousands of people and displaced more than 137 million people! With 24-hour News channels reporting from a multitude of locations, we experienced the horrific devastation in real time.

What we don’t always experience is the effect following the calamity on individuals. What happens when a natural disaster strikes and individuals lose everything? Their homes, crops, villages, friends and family. How do they actually go about reconstructing their lives? Where do they find the strength and resiliency to rebound and rebuild their homes, places of worship, schools and infrastructure?

Without a doubt it comes from personal fortitude and support. Support from the local community, government agencies, relief organizations, and private NGOs hoping to make a difference in the lives of affected people. Ultimately, we are all responsible and obligated to support each other when members of our global family are suffering.

Emajjin’s recipient children’s charity for 2017, For The Love Of Children Society of Alberta (FTLOCS) is a prime example of a non-profit organization that works tirelessly to support children in Canada and internationally. The Society is over 37 years old and has a fearless leader at its helm who embodies the word “giver.”
